2010 Star Beauty Awards, Best Hair Products
Trust me -- I've tried everything.Posted by Alina on February 20, 2017
I never write reviews (good or bad). If I like something I keep buying it or patronize without a word. If I don't like something I don't buy it again or I just don't go back. Listen carefully. I am in my mid thirties. I have had course, thick, unruly hair all my life. I've always colored and styled it heavily. I've had treatments, I've purchased products after products. I've had my hair done by low level stylists and very, very expensive pro stylists, I've purchased just about what every level of stylist has recommended. Let me say that if you go to Target, just know that I've tried every brand on the shelf from the cheapest to the most expensive. I've done it all. Bought new hair dryers, flat irons, styling tools -- my hair has never been easy. I went through a few phases at various points in my life where I found some magical concotion of products that was okay, but then it would start going south again. This pst year it got so course, dry, my scalp was itchy and flaky and it just didn't look healthy. I was at my wits end. I broke down and bought R&Co and Oribe and Carol's Daughter and Pureology, and and and and... Always bypassing Living Proof because I was like -- I just can't. I can't pay that for hair products. Finally, after getting a bonus at work having a horrible Valentine's day, I went last night night and I purchased the Restore shampoo, conditioner, mask treatment and perfecting spray. I almost changed my mind before I got to the register about a hundred times. I did it. Let me tell you the results. For the first time in my life. IN MY LIFE. My hair is manageable. After ONE application of the shampoo, mask and perfecting spray. I almost didn't even flat iron it -- which is something I always, always have to do. Every single thing about it -- the smell, the texture, even the damned shape of the bottle -- worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY. I will starve before I will go without my Living Proof products. I'm not rich, I'm not poor, a middle class person with a middle class job at a bank and if I've taken time to write a review, you know I mean every word of it. If you've tried everything like me -- I know it will hurt your pocketbook a little -- but trust me. Buy it.
Getting older hit my hair hardPosted by Amac on February 04, 2017
As I've aged my hair has changed drastically and I've struggled with dryness, frizz, and excessive breakage. I quit coloring it about two years ago because the damage was causing thinning. I decided I'd rather have gray hair than no hair. I started using this product about six months ago and it has vastly improved my hairs texture. It's long gorgeous and turning a silvery white. I get so many compliments, especially from other women who want to stop dyeing their hair. I still have to be careful of breakage-no ponytails-but I love my hair again.
My hair is healthy and shiny againPosted by Amy on November 23, 2016
I am over 60 and dye my hair. It was dry and dull after a month or so of using the Restore shampoo and conditioner I feel like I have my hair back and not some old lady's head of hair.
